The Lynx Blue Line, presented by CATS (Charlotte Area Transportation System) is to eventually provide service to the University area. After making a stop on the UNC-Charlotte campus it will continue across Mallard Creek Church Road where it is scheduled to make another stop somewhere within a currently undeveloped one-hundred acre site adjacent to the UNC-C campus. Upon this site, plans for an academic village have been proposed. The Village is to feature academic buildings, residences, and a hotel with convention center.
