Overview
I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in The Design Kids: Threesome exhibition held in Adelaide in 2013.
Three designers collaborate by choosing three words to represent the creative process and then design a poster to be displayed at random locations around the city of Adelaide. A digital map of the exhibition locations was distributed to participants via social media.
Solution
Our solution was to reflect the creative process not only in the visual style but also with the words chosen. Tick, tock, boom, alludes to the necessary time of contemplation before the creative spark ignites.
We used a mixture of analogue and digital processes to create type reminiscent of old comic book onomatopoeia, further enhanced by the simple 2 colour overprinting.
