Yamuna Ghat | Dec2019

Yamuna Ghat on a cold December morning of 2019
This part of Old Delhi is the favorite spot for photographers, videographers and of course the Seagulls, who wish to spend their early mornings with Yamuna and the mesmerising moments the boatmen of the ghat community create in it's ripples.
'Things which are in close proximity often go unnoticed..'
As I stood on the last step of the ghat and registered all that my eyes could see as my first impression.
' A fling with serendipity.'
Stepping in one of these boats felt like the first step towards knowing our Yamuna through the eyes of the people of the ghat.
' The river and it's essentials.'
After going in, all left was to sit and watch as the boat moved with the ripples created by Yamuna, joining in with the others.
' Half an hour in the ripples of Yamuna.'
In a mere period of 30mins, we captured moments that felt dreamlike.
' The sound of birds.'
The moment was a frenzy one, with bird-food flying out of our hands in the air and onto the river water as the birds dived in and out for a bite or two. Each flapping in different directions over our heads and the shrill voice of our boatmen calling them to eat.
' The effort of movement.'
As our half hour ride came to an end, the boatman turned the boat towards the ghat and we sat there, still, absorbing the little details and the moments we felt.
' Advertisement? Or an eager request to emotional touch? '
' Another new day, another new morning at Yamuna Ghat. Some faces familiar for them while others with new faces.. a whole new experience to knock on.'
' Happenings. More than what meets the eye.'
' The lady sits at the shore of Yamuna Ghat and looks over.'
' Old abandoned ruins used as store rooms located on the ghat of Yamuna.'
' Smiles, old songs and laughter.'
' With the shy and the sleepy.'
' The charm of Yamuna Ghat.'
