Nashat - Breakfast during Protests

Nashat - Bilingual Breakfast Packaging for Protests
Nashat is a breakfast line of local products that is made to give the Lebanese protestors the energy they need when going down to the streets. By definition, Nashat means energy and it can also mean activism, which is what is happening during the Lebanese Revolution.

The products chosen for this line were fatayer with spinach filling, fatayer with meat filling, a Yamama cake, and fresh cucumbers. The materials chosen were craft paper and Oikos paper (80g in order for it to have a little newspaper feel).
When talking about the logo and the overall identity, the tone had different Lebanese expressions and slang since most likely the consumer is on the streets. For the logo, the choice of red is obvious because red is usually used for revolution-type direction, and also because of the colors of the Lebanese flag. I wanted to go for a different tone of red instead of the more serious looking one because the sentences I have used on the packs are very light-hearted. The fonts used are Lalezar and for the logo I traced the Arabic type free-hand to give it a more imperfect and close-to- heart vibe. Everything needed to be simple so that it is self-produced, and can be mass produced by the people without cost worries. I also created 3 different newspaper backgrounds, blending it to give it a newspaper feel.
